As expected the Rolex stand at BaselWorld is nothing short of extraordinary and measures a jaw-dropping 1230 square metres, which makes it twice the size of their stand at last year's event (if you're counting). The stand took 6 weeks to put together but, no matter how impressive a construct it is, it cannot distract from the reason people are entering it - to see the exceptional Rolex timepieces unveiled.

The Rolex GMT Master II immediately draws the eye with its new cerachrom bezel insert with patented Rolex technology. An exemplary timepiece, once worn by Pan-Am pilots during Transatlantic crossings in the 1950s, and remaining just as stylish today.
Also showcased was the Rolex 36mm Day Date on a crocodile strap. Wonderfully crafted and available in a variety of strap colours including chocolate, blue and cherry. This collection also has a new type of clasp for Rolex which is supposed to increase the longevity of the strap.
The Rolex 50 Year Anniversary Platinum Daytona watch is somewhat of a coup as it is the very first time that the Daytona range has been available in platinum. An incredibly robust timepiece that has been tested to the extreme.
