Hungry Chick

A hungry chick can be a bit of nuisance to a penguin dad sometimes. After he has spent the entire day guarding his offspring, the male himself may suffer from a bit of a growling tummy. After all, male crested penguins spend up to a month guarding their chicks without ever going out to sea to find food. At dusk when mum should be returning with dinner, the chick may get rather impatient and start begging obtrusively. A frustrated call for his wife to please, please arrive soon probably does not speed up her return, but certainly provides an opportunity to vent a bit of the frustration that comes with a nagging chick.
